Washington, DC - On Sunday Sept 17th Catholic youth will hold a press
conference before joining the March to End Fossil Fuels in New York City with
thousands of concerned people and climate activists. After historic heat waves this
summer, and inspired by their faith, young Catholics are calling for urgent action to
address the climate crisis and an end to reliance on fossil fuels.
The climate march is happening just days before the UN Climate Ambition Summit
on Sept. 20 in NYC. Youth will display banners and signs with messages inspired by
Laudato Si', urging world leaders to take immediate and decisive action to reduce
greenhouse gas emissions and emphasize the importance of protecting communities
disproportionately affected by climate change, both nationally and globally.
